This website was created because of a Rotarian, Dr. Dwight H. Short II, (he likes to be called D.H.) giving a talk about his city, Pass Christian, MS, to the Rotary Club of Marin Evening in California. That talk stimulated a great deal of action and support.  Rotarian Bob Tuttle stepped up and has graciously provided this web site to help get the word out and keep the situation of Pass Christian in the eyes of the world!
D.H. continues to travel and speak about Pass Christian around the country sending a message of home and challenge asking others to share their good fortune with those who still have need.  Rotarians have continued to serve and now include 9 major projects--all active and well managed to support the cause--PASS CHRISTIAN RISES!  Pass Christian Rotary has the full support of their District, 6840, also heavily hit by Katrina.

D.H., his wife Kathie and most of his fellow Rotarians lost their homes and businesses in the aftermath of Katrina. Since 2005, they and others have been working diligently rebuilding their lives and their beloved community.

Government can't and will not be able to do it all. Through contributions and good management the Rotary Club of Pass Christian is effectively helping people who fall through the cracks of welfare, assistance, or who have lack of personal wealth to build new homes on their property.

The Club also is also continuing to help its community rebuild its infrastructure to provide dump trucks, books and equipment for the local library, a new community center and many other projects.  Those who have suffered so much are and will be able to look forward to living in the "Pass" again.

The Governor of Mississippi, Haley Barbour and US Representative Gene Taylor attended an

economic forum on April 18, 2006 hosted by the Rotary Club of Pass Christian.  Dr. and Mrs. Short are pictured with Haley.  Governor Barbour and Representative Taylor gave words of encouragement and support to the citizens of Pass Christian and for the efforts of the Rotary Club of Pass Christian.

Service Above Self and providing worthwhile value oriented projects are Pass Christian's Rotary Club's goals put into action.
