Nelson "Nip” Lang Community Center A Rotary District in Southern California (5330) gave a double wide trailer for us to use as a community center.  This provides the ONLY building in our town for our church groups, social clubs, business organizations and scouts to use.  We need a second permanent building to complete this community complex.  Estimated cost is $100,000.  This center has been a God send for our city.

Nelson "Nip" Lang was a long-time member of Pass Christian Rotary Club.

Nip and his wife, Helen, had lived through other hurricanes and chose to not abandon their home when Katrina was about to strike.  Nip was a past president of the Pass Christian Rotary Club.  He had a 45 year, 100% attendance record.  That record was the longest of living members attending District 6840 Rotary Clubs at that time.

Nip and Helen were found dead six weeks after the Hurricane struck about five blocks from what was once their home. They are both missed by their fellow Rotarians, family, and friends in The Pass.
